I decided to try something different at the end of the Equations Unit. Each student was ask to draw an equation from a grab bag. They had to then work the equation out, attach it to the project's expectations and rubric, and finally explain in a comic strip how to solve their equation. This incorporated literacy into the math classroom as well. The finished product was then emailed directly to me. My students enjoyed the experience of explaining how to solve an equation using a comic strip.
I recommend Make Beliefs Comix Website. It was very user friendly. It also was not blocked by my school district.
I look forward to you sharing your experience with using any of this idea in your classroom.

Organization Suggestion #1 - Student Files
Organizing class folders by color coding each class has been very effective. For example, 1st period student file folders may be all green folders, 2nd period student file folders may be all orange folders, 3rd period student file folders may be all pink folders, etc.
This systems has worked very well for me. If I need to pull a certain class or subject set, I already know what color to refer to. If I need a select student, I know the class or subject that the the student is in so I then know what color set to refer to.
